1. SECTION ONE - GETTING TO KNOW YOURSELF

  • Do your participants lack in motivation and self-initiative?

Also, the self and skill identification will assist your participants in identifying their areas of interest and in developing a career plan based upon short and long-term goals.

2. SECTION TWO - OPENING THE DOORS TO EMPLOYMENT

  • Do they have the skills that will set them apart from all other applicants?
  • Can your participants articulate their qualifications to a potential employer in writing and verbally?
  • Do your participants know how to construct a winning cover letter and resume?
  • Are your participants ready to conduct an effective job search campaign?

** Opening the Doors to Employment is the ticket to preparing your program participants for successful outcomes in their job search activities. They will lean how to get their feet in the door by knowing in advance what type of attributes are important to most employers, and the best way to capitalize on their qualifications by writing a winning cover letter and resume.

3. SECTION THREE - SELLING YOURSELF TO EMPLOYERS

  • Do your participants know what it means to "sell" themselves to an employer?
  • Do your participants know what questions they can expect from an interviewer?
  • Are your participants able to recognize those "trick" questions, designed to eliminate prospective candidates?
  • Do your participants know which answers need to be scripted and memorized for every interview?
  • Are you confident that your participants recognize the essentials of grooming and dress for an interview?

** The key to getting the job is included in Selling Yourself to Employers modules. This is where your participants will learn how to answer those all-important interview questions, and present themselves in a professional and adequately prepared manner. Use this section to learn the proper handshake, the importance of good eye contact, and what you should not do during an interview.

4. SECTION FOUR - ON THE JOB SUCCESS

  • Is job retention a problem for your agency/organization?
  • Are you able to place your participants, but fail to meet the retention benchmarks?
  • Do you find that your participants are unprepared to deal with the various work challenges once placed on a job?

** On the Job Success will assist your participants in dealing with the different challenges that they will face once they embark upon their new careers. Your participants will learn how to survive and position themselves for advancement on the job. They will also learn how to manage their time and stress levels as they adjust to their new career. Most importantly, they will learn, and be able to reason on the best practice when faced with an ethical decision.
