May, 2008 Career T.E.A.M. announces CEO Christopher Kuselias to speak at the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals. The NAWDP 19th Annual Conference “Workforce Development is a Journey: Proud History ~ New Beginnings” on May 18-21, 2008 will be at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mr. Kuselias will be speaking on “Job Development Certification: Quantifying the Future.”
Discussion revolves around how to design programs and training to produce a documented increase in placement and job retention performance. Topics include: employer outreach strategies, time management, overcoming employer objections, working with difficult clients and techniques for uncovering more job openings. Attendees will also learn strategies for preparing their staff and students for the 21st century workplace. Also included is a "Cultural Awareness Measure" topic about training Career Outreach Specialists on strategies to improve job placement and retention performance. Also included: keeping a proactive eye toward the future, working with partners, to address issues before they become problems; understanding and predicting performance levels based on organization capability; and how to improve and using Labor Market Information to design programs around community needs.
