Career T.E.A.M. COMPLETE SUCCESSFUL 
PUBLIC/PRIVATE WELFARE TO WORK PILOT WITH 
CTE OF STAMFORD,CT

Stamford, CT., May 19, 1998 - CTE, the Stamford based Community Action Agency and Career T.E.A.M., a private employment and training organization with a proven track record in motivating and finding employment for welfare recipients, announced the successful completion of a unique customized employment training program.

Held at the CTE site in Stamford, CTE was the primary contractor and Career T.E.A.M. acted in the role of subcontractor. Staff members from both agencies and several local Stamford employers collaborated to design the intensive 9 week training program. A total of 20 individuals began training, 17 successfully completed, and 15 individuals were successfuly employed at an average salary of over $9.00 per hour. In addition, the program included a strict attendance, and professional dress code policy.

CJ Kuselias, President of Career T.E.A.M. cited, "The impressive outcome of this collaboration is a testimonial of the value of partnering between two separate agencies committed to the common goal of self-sufficiency". The curriculum was designed to highlight the entry level requirements of the Stamford business community and included motivation (Career T.E.A.M.), remedial Math and English (CTE), customer service (Career T.E.A.M.), computer training (CTE), and job readiness (Career T.E.A.M.). 

During the final two weeks of the 9-week program, Career T.E.A.M. coordinated a total of 16 employer classroom presentations, which resulted in several course participants receiving multiple job offers! Participating employers included: Ashforth Company, At Work Personnel, Avis, Baby & Toy Superstore, Burns Security Services, CFS Bank, Combined Insurance, Eagle Cleaners, Eden Services, High Ridge Printing, J. Silver, Marriott, Premiere Staffing, Stamford Towne Center, SNET, and Xerox.
