AWARDED JOBS CORPS CONTRACT IN WESTERN NEW YORK Buffalo, New York, June 27, 2001- Career T.E.A.M., a national leader in the welfare to work industry announced today that it had been granted its first Jobs Corps contract. Focusing on outreach and recruitment with sites in Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester, the company will oversee a maximum 5-year contract worth up to $1.75M. Job Corps is a national residential training and employment program administered by the Department of Labor (DOL) to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth throughout the United States. Job Corps was originally established by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and is currently provided for under Title I-C of the Workforce Investment Act. Private companies operate each of the more than 118 Job Corps campuses nationwide. Responding to an RFP which sought submissions as part of the Jobs Corps small business set aside program, Career T.E.A.M. partnered with industry respected Resource Consultants, Inc. (RCI) to co-author the highly competitive winning bid. Based in Vienna, Virginia with over 2,000 employees and over $100M in revenues, RCI is a recognized leader in the professional services industry and operates multiple Jobs Corps projects.
