Career T.E.A.M. & New Haven Job Corps Center Partner On Career Empowerment Curriculum & Training

New Haven, CT, April 3, 2005 - Career T.E.A.M., a national leader in workforce development consulting announced today that it has been contracted by the New Haven Job Corps Center (managed by Career Systems Development, Inc.) to design and implement a new career empowerment curriculum for the Centers 200 students.

New Haven is a top performing facility, which consistently seeks enhanced methods for transitioning youth to self-sufficiency. Center Director, Tami Schweikert stated, "This new curriculum not only meets all of our current Job Corps requirements, it exceeds them. It offers our young people one more opportunity to advance their career skills and move them forward into the next phase of their lives.

Job Corps is a national residential training and employment program administered by the Department of Labor (DOL) to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth throughout the United States. Job Corps was originally established by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. and is currently provided for under Title I-C of the Workforce Investment Act. Private companies operate each of the more than 124 Job Corps campuses nationwide.
