Baltimore, MD February 2009 - Career T.E.A.M. achieves a 61% work participation rate for the Month of February 2009. For the fifth consecutive month CTL Baltimore has exceeded the 50% federal work participation rate.

Program Director, Barry Lott says, “With the economic climate being one of uncertainty, our team is stressing to our clients the importance of gaining valuable work experience while searching for a career. We have noticed that placement rates for January 2009 and February 2009 were significantly lower then the same period the prior two years. Many of our clients are utilizing their required participation hours to obtain their GED as well as occupational skills training, which are both necessary to compete in today’s workforce.”

Baltimore City has the largest population of TANF clients in the State of Maryland. For the first time ever, Baltimore City has exceeded the federal work participation rate of 50% for five consecutive months. CTL Baltimore is proud to be a major contributor of this historic period!
